HOW TO ACHIEVE A FIRST CLASS DEGREE?
I have seen substantial growth in the quality of academic work that I have produced, as in my first year at university I achieved a low 2.1, and now in my final year, I am achieving a 1st in all my assignments. I wanted to share with you the techniques I had adopted to secure a first-class degree.

Organisation skills is a variable to factor in as it can determine the success of your academic performance. Key staple items to increase productivity are a day per page planner, a monthly calendar, physical and digital folders to organise academic work. I would recommend that you take the time to try different tools such as a planner to create a system that fosters organisation habits, as this will aid academic performance.

I stress the importance of networking with your classmates as this will allow you to scope out peers who are passionate about their academic studies. These individuals who are inspired to perform their best will motivate you to mimic their behaviour. Another benefit of identifying individuals who are passionate about their academic studies is the ability to encourage discussion surrounding assignments and exams. The opportunity to discuss topics with your cohort can promote the development of critical thinking, which will aid your academic work.

Allocating time to complete all reading materials in advance may appear like an overwhelming task. However, this practice will aid the preparation for an assignment or an exam, as there is time to allocate towards refining an assignment plan or to include supplementary research to fill in any knowledge gaps.

I suggest taking the time to read through the module unit guide, in particular, the assignment marking criteria, as this will provide key indicators to what the examiner is expecting. By analysing the marking criteria, it allows designating an appropriate volume of words for each section in an assignment.

Taking the time to amend your plan by receiving feedback from your module leader is highly valuable. As the notes you receive can allow you to critically evaluate arguments that are presented and identify any gaps within the plan.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and found the insights I had shared helpful, if you do adopt any of the following strategies I had mentioned, let me know your journey in the comments section.
Finally, please make sure you monitor this space as I will be sharing with you my study skills and public relations insights.
